Whether joining us for the Language Summer Camp hosted in partnership with the Hamilton Lugar School of Global & International Studies or one of our enrichment camps, campers will enjoy an adventure-filled summer and an inside look into what's possible with an ISI education!

Transport your children a world away with our Language Summer Camp, hosted in partnership with the Hamilton Lugar School of Global & International Studies. Offered in French, Mandarin, Spanish, Arabic, and Portuguese, children will enjoy immersive language instruction and hands-on activities directed by native experts right here in Indianapolis! At the conclusion of each week, children in French, Mandarin, Spanish, and Arabic Camp will be granted an Indiana University Certificate of Participation.

No prior language experience is required. The content does not repeat and is not reliant on the previous week's content, so campers are invited to join at any point during the four week period!

Language Summer Camp Fast Facts

Who - Incoming kindergarten through grade 6 students are invited to participate in the Language Summer Camp
When - Camps run from 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. during the following dates:

Week 1: June 24-28 (5-day week)
Week 2: July 1-3 (3-day week – no camp on July 4 & 5)
Week 3: July 8-12 (5-day week)
Week 4: July 15-19 (5-day week)
After care is available from 3:00-6:00 p.m.

Cost - $250 per week* (lunch not included - campers should bring snacks, a water bottle, and lunch daily). A discounted rate of $230 is offered to ISI families. Rates are prorated to $170 ($150 for ISI families) the week of July 1.
*Arabic Camp is offered at no cost
Flexible options - Not sure which language to select? Try them all! Participants can sign up for multiple languages with no experience required, as camps are offered at beginner and intermediate levels.

French Summer Camp

June 24 to July 19, 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. each weekday

Afternoon child care is offered from 3:00-6:00 p.m. for an additional $150/week
When registering for camp, you will select whether your child is at a beginner or intermediate level (definitions provided below). Camp groups will be determined based on language level and age.

Beginner: Recommended for campers who are new to the language, meaning it is not spoken in their household and they have no prior instruction in the language
Intermediate: Recommended for campers who have prior instruction in the language for two years or more, or who speak the language at home

Mandarin Summer Camp

June 24 to July 19, 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. each weekday

Afternoon child care is offered from 3:00-6:00 p.m. for an additional $150/week
When registering for camp, you will select whether your child is at a beginner or intermediate level (definitions provided below). Camp groups will be determined based on language level and age.

Arabic Summer Camp

PLEASE NOTE: In Summer 2023, Arabic Summer Camp was offered at no cost to participants thanks to a generous grant from the Qatar Foundation to the Indiana University's Hamilton Lugar School of Global and International Studies. Indiana University expects to receive the same grant for Summer 2024, and, as such, we will are opening registration for Arabic Camp at no cost at this time. If IU does not receive the grant, families will be notified in March and will receive the option to either pay to attend or revoke their registration.

Portuguese Summer Camp

Enrichment Camp gives children a chance to continue a hobby they are truly passionate about or experience a new one for the first time! Hosted by ISI teachers as well as local enrichment class vendors who work with ISI throughout the school year, Enrichment Camp promises to be a unique, fun-filled experience!

No prior experience in any of the Enrichment Camp topics is required.

Welcome to Budding Scientists Camp, where young minds embark on an enchanting journey into the world of discovery! This dynamic program is designed to captivate curious minds through hands-on experiments, interactive demonstrations, and a splash of scientific magic! Campers explore the wonders of nature and conduct simple yet mesmerizing experiences (erupting volcanoes, for example!). Each day is filled with laughter, excitement, and "aha!" moments. Join us as we spark curiosity and set the stage for a lifelong love of science!

Welcome to Little Bakers Camp, the perfect summer camp for aspiring young chefs! In this culinary journey, children not only discover the art of French Baking but also experience the joy of creating delicious treats. Our Little Bakers explore the magic of the kitchen, learning to measure, mix, and bake a variety of delightful pastries. Children will engage in hands-on activities, fostering a love for baking while also enhancing fine motor skills. Amidst the aroma or freshly baked delights, children forge friendships and create memories that make this camp an unforgettable summer experience. Vive la pâtisserie!

Minecraft Adventure Camp (a.m.)

Minecraft is an open-world game that promotes creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving in an immersive environment where the only limit is your imagination. As a game-based learning platform, Minecraft offers to engage students and ignite their passion for learning. In this camp, children will use computational skills to solve puzzles to escape the mysterious mansion and earn a million emeralds. Campers will use coding and problem-solving skills to unlock secrets, open trapdoors, reveal hidden clues, and more. We will end the camp with a cute sniffer painting on an 11”x14” canvas! Join Miss Sou for an exciting dual camp this summer combining science and technology! This time we will be making kinetic sand & learning to code each camp day. We will make shimmering confetti sand, colored sand, glowstick sand, and glitter sand, from scratch using our special recipes. We will then head over to create digital drawings, coding & play games in a fun learning environment from Minecraft, Star Wars, Retro, 3D Games & more. Take home kinetic sand in a special crafty container & explore technology this summer! No coding experience is needed to attend this camp, all levels are welcome! We are back with our most popular dual camp this year combining science and art! Join Miss Sou to make all new slimes & take a canvas painting home each day of the camp week. We will make fun party slime, amazing ultraviolet slime, crunchy floam slime, scented paint slime, and funky orbeez slime from scratch using our special recipes. We will also paint cute adorable pets on canvas with rainbow colors and give a magical touch with accessories. Calling all aspiring innovators and skilled engineers for another dual camp! Dive into programming logic with Scratch, the drag-and-drop creative learning environment developed by MIT Media Lab. You'll use code blocks and characters to gain a foundation in computational thinking, creating animated stories and games. We will end the camp with a surprise electronic Harry Potter craft! Checkmate Chess Camp (a.m.)

Offered during morning session: 8:00-11:30 a.m.
Incoming grade 1 through grade 6 students

Do you like chess? Chess is a great tool to teach decision making, mathematics, and logic. Taught by the Indiana Famous Learning Through Games group who are known for their kid friendly style. Kids will get all this while simultaneously having a blast! Great class for all levels of play, beginner to advanced.

Chess Strategy Camp (p.m.)

July 8-12
Offered during afternoon session: 11:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
Incoming grade 1 through grade 6 students

Regardless of if your child is new to chess or an experienced player, Chess Strategy will be great fun! Strategy will explore how to play in the beginning, middle, and end of a Chess game. Taught by the locally famous Learning Through Games group, who are known for making chess fun for kids!

CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY

CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY

If you cancel more than 30 days before the start of your camp session, camp fees (less credit card fees) will be refunded in full. Due to the difficulty of filling canceled spots just before or during the camping season, cancellations for any session or program for any reason within 30 days of camp dates will receive no fee refund. All cancellations before the camp date must be sent in writing to the ISI business office at billing@isind.org. Confirmation of the receipt of the cancellation notice will be sent to you by email. If you do not receive a confirmation of cancellation, ISI has not received your cancellation notice and no refund will be given.

Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis for extenuating circumstances including:

Severe Unexpected Medical Condition
Death in the immediate/nuclear family
Severe Unexpected Financial Hardship

Not attending a program does not entitle a camper to a refund. When a camper claims a spot for a week, the camper is reserving the space, time, and staffing, whether or not he/she attends.

International School of Indiana reserves the right to cancel any program that does not meet enrollment requirements or due to a significant health crisis. Notification will be provided at least two weeks before the camp start date. Payments will be refunded in those circumstances (less credit card fees).

Please note: At this time there are no plans to cancel any summer camps. However, if any ISI summer camps are canceled, all deposits and payments will be refunded (less credit card fees).
